DeepTech Fellowship Program:
Fine Structure Ventures is proud to offer venture capital fellowship opportunities for PhD candidates specializing in the physical or engineering sciences in our Boston office on a rolling basis. Fellows will work in multidisciplinary teams that will conduct scientific reviews, due diligence, business strategy, and market analysis around new ventures and potential investment opportunities. Students selected receive hands-on training through working directly on venture capital projects with our Investment Team to develop investment theses in prioritized areas of science and conduct scientific diligence (e.g., literature reviews, primary research with academic and industry KOLs), both for new investment opportunities and existing portfolio companies.
Who Can Apply:
Fellows will be expected to work in a hybrid capacity from our Boston office. Fellowship engagements are offered on a rolling basis, with start dates aligned to candidate availability and team needs.
We are looking for PhD candidates who are within 12–18 months of completing their degree, with strong scientific backgrounds and a specialization in the physical or engineering sciences preferred.

This is a paid fellowship. Duration and compensation will be determined based on the scope of the engagement and the fellow’s availability. Fine Structure Ventures considers a variety of factors when determining compensation, including professional background and relevant work experience; as a result, actual compensation may vary.

Salary Range:
This is a part-time fellowship. The compensation for this position is an hourly rate between $55–$75, depending on experience. F-Prime considers a variety of factors when determining compensation, including professional background and relevant work experience; therefore, actual compensation may vary.
