About

Dionis Minev is an Associate at Fine Structure Ventures, where he focuses on investments in biology, aerospace, and computing.

Before joining FSV, Dionis was a Senior Scientist at an early-stage DNA data storage and computing startup, where he led technology development before moving into business development and product management.

He completed his PhD and Postdoctoral work with William Shih at Harvard, conducting research at the Wyss Institute and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and later continued as a Staff Scientist on the Wyss’ Molecular Robotics Platform. His work focused on the self-assembly of DNA nanostructures and their applications in diagnostics. Dionis began his career in mechanical engineering, including time at Airbus, before moving into bioengineering and synthetic biology.

He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and a master’s degree in Medical Engineering and Technology from the Technical University of Munich.
